Yahoo has added new features to its Mail apps that it said will not only connect you more closely with your contacts, but also help you craft more “compelling” emails. These changes affect both Yahoo Mail's iOS and Android apps.

The company also announced that it has launched an open beta program that anyone can enroll in to test out the latest unreleased features on its Android Mail app. Participants will be able to try out Yahoo's new and experimental features and offer feedback to the company.

With its iOS app, Yahoo has added ways to increasing sharing, such as link previews and also email stationary created by Paperless Post. These themes were previously available on the web and desktop, but are now coming to mobile. If you're interested in adding some flair to your emails, tap on the compose assist button, select the stationary icon, and choose how you want your email to look.

New to the Yahoo Mail iOS app is the integration of native share buttons within the Apple operating system. When you find something online or in another app you want to share with friends or family using email, click the share button and choose the Yahoo Mail app.

These features unfortunately haven't been carried over to the Android app. In fact, both versions of Yahoo Mail today have totally different updates, with Yahoo Mail for Android being focused on your connections. The company has added an enhanced directory to showcase all the people you've interacted with and a syncing feature that merges your device's contacts with your email address book.

Yahoo said that all of these features are rolling out today.
