Twitter Publish is a new tool for showing off embedded tweets

The Twitter Publish embedded grid.

Twitter today announced at its Flight developer conference in San Francisco a new free tool called Twitter Publish for showing off embedded tweets. It’s meant to be a new way for media companies to package up Twitter’s core content. Twitter Publish is out now in beta.

The launch of Twitter Publish follows the introduction of Twitter Curator earlier this year. Curator is also available in beta.

“We … know that you need a powerful visual storytelling tool to truly engage your users, so we’ve built an embedded grid which displays your curated content in a rich, responsive, media-forward format,” Twitter wrote in a blog post on the news.

Twitter Publish includes a WYSIWYG editor, and its new embedded grid is responsive, so it looks good on both the mobile web and desktop, said Michael Ducker, head of product for embedded tweets at Twitter.

Embedded tweets power more than 1 billion unique visitors every month, Ducker said. You can now embed Twitter polls and Twitter Moments into websites, he said.

And the JavaScript for embedded tweets is now 40 percent smaller, Ducker said.

There’s also a new Collections API to curate tweets and publish embedded tweets on websites.

You can take a look at Twitter Publish by going to publish.twitter.com.
